About Luton

Luton is a town packed full of cultural diversity with many different leisure and entertainment facilities.

The thriving range of pubs and restaurants is a reflection of the many different culture found in and around Luton including, Thai, Indian, Chinese and Italian eating establishments and Café's. This is complemented by the range of entertainment's found within the Galaxy Centre, the UK's 1st town based multiplex and entertainment centre. It hosts two all-you-can-eat restaurants, a cinema, bowling alley and bingo hall, as well as a few extra pubs and clubs.

Luton Town Centre is a great place to work, shop or visit and Luton TownTalk offers all the information you need on Luton’s Pubs, Luton’s Restaurants and of course Luton’s shops.

The Mall Shopping Centre has recently completed a £27 million refurbishment and is an extremely pleasant place to shop and work. It contains a wide variety of shops, including Marks and Spencers, Next, River Island, Adams, WHSmiths, Debenhams and Top Shop, as well as a number of smaller retailers and an indoor market.

Once you have shopped and perhaps dropped into a pub, café or restaurant, why not try one of the Town's exciting nightclubs. There are many to choose from including the recently refurbished Liquid & Envy.

Culturally, the town centre has many other things to offer. St. Mary's Church is a beautiful place to visit and just next door is Bedfordshire University rated best in the country for graduate employment. The Town Hall is in the centre of Luton and a grade II listed building. It is also the most recognisable building in Luton.

If you are headed to Luton for a conference, the St Lawrence Hotel, the Town Hall and the Thistle Hotel are all wonderful venues, which allow you and your delegates the opportunity of visiting the town centre and all it has to offer.

Along with all this, Luton has fantastic transport links, with the M1 linking to London and Milton Keynes and the train, which make both Leeds and Brighton just a few hours away. Moving around the town can be by foot, on one of the many bus companies that service the Town or by Taxi straight to the door. Translink will, in the future, provide another choice in transport, linking Luton to Dunstable with a quick, easy and reliable service.

Luton has many opportunities for improvement. As a community it is important that new funding routes are explored, the City Status is sought and the negative perception of the town is battled.

With Luton growing and set for further expansion the town centre is set to become one of the most desirable places to be.
