Househunters could turn their dream home into a reality if they attend a Help to Buy weekend being hosted by a regional builder this weekend month.
Persimmon Homes North London is holding its event at Sycamore Rise in Thame on Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1.
The focus will be on Help to Buy and Home Change, two schemes that have proved popular with both first-time and existing homeowners.
An independent financial adviser will be on hand to discuss the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme. People buying a new build only need a five per cent deposit along with a 75 per cent mortgage while the Government supplies a 20 per cent equity loan, which is interest and repayment free for the first five years.
Mark Brown, head of sales for Persimmon Homes North London, said: “It is so easy for people to become trapped in the rental market, paying out large monthly amounts that leave little scope for first time buyers to raise the large deposit they need to buy their own home.
“Help to Buy has proved especially useful to take that first step onto the property ladder.
“Under Home Change, which can be used in conjunction with Help to Buy, we use all our expertise and contacts to help sell our buyer’s current home. We will arrange the valuations, agree a price and then market the property on their behalf. There are no estate agent fees or headaches - everything is taken care of. Our sales advisors will be on hand throughout the event to give people any information they need.”
Buyers reserving certain plots at the Sycamore Rise Help to Buy event could even be in their new homes by Christmas.
